Why connect your system to Wi-Fi?

A Wi-Fi connection lets you:

  • check your system status remotely
  • receive notifications when an alert or anomaly is detected
  • access a secure portal
  • share access with other authorized users

Before you begin

Make sure you have the following on hand:

  • your Wi-Fi network name
  • your network password
  • a phone, a tablet or a computer
  • access to the Water-Protec control panel

Note: The temporary network created by the system is named Water-ProTec AP.

Method A

Standard Wi-Fi Connection

1

Enable configuration mode

Press and hold the Silence button for 3 seconds.
Confirmation — LEDs 1 to 4 alternate green.

2

Wait for the network to become available

When the mode is ready, LEDs 1 and 2, then 3 and 4, alternate green.
The Water-ProTec AP network becomes available.

3

Connect to the temporary network

Connect your phone, your tablet or your computer to the Water-ProTec AP network.

4

Open the configuration page

In your browser, enter the following address: 192.168.4.1
The configuration page appears in your browser’s language (English or French).

5

Select your Wi-Fi network

Find your Wi-Fi network name in the list and enter your password.

Check the connection

Connecting: Alternating yellow (LEDs 1 to 4)
Connection successful: Green flashing — 10 seconds (LEDs 1 to 4)
Connection failed: Red flashing — 10 seconds (LEDs 1 to 4)

If the LEDs flash red, restart the procedure from step 1.

Method B

WPS Connection

WPS sync is also available as an alternative setup method.

Attention: Your router must support WPS mode. Enabling WPS will erase any Wi-Fi configuration already saved in the system.

Enable configuration mode

Press and hold the Silence button for 3 seconds.
Confirmation — LEDs 1 to 4 alternate green.

2

Enable WPS mode

Press the Programming button, located on the left side of the panel, for 3 seconds.

3

3. Activate WPS on your router

Locate your router and press its WPS button.

4

4. Let the connection complete

Return to the Water-Protec system and allow the sync to finish.
LEDs 1 to 4 flash green when the connection is successful.

Wi-Fi LED Indicator

  • Green: The system is connected to a router.
  • Off: No Wi-Fi network has been configured.
  • Red: A network is configured, but the system cannot connect to it.

Troubleshooting

If the connection fails, check the following:

  • the Wi-Fi password is correct
  • your router is on and within range
  • you selected the right network
  • your router supports WPS (Method B only)

If the problem persists, restart the full procedure or contact technical support.
